Viewing jade Output

Obviously, if you are going to convert your XML code into a different format, you must have the matching software on your computer: rtf (Microsoft Word or the free Word Viewer), mif (Adobe FrameMaker or Frame+SGML), html (any Web browser) or tex (a suitable TeX package). This could prove expensive and does force you to keep loading the output file each time (Microsoft Word won't even let you create a new RTF file if the old one is still open).

Fujitsu Labs have released a wonderful package called HyBrick that solves all of these problems. Using this package, you can view the output on your screen (see Figure 19.2). Of course, you still need a development environment. HyBrick can be downloaded from http://collie.fujitsu.com/hybrick/. This is a beta test version but is extremely stable. I'm told that they are working on a new version and have plans to support XSL soon.
